Does anyone know of any free campsites along the Blue Ridge Parkway?

I'll be heading down the parkway in a few days, from the entrance in Virginia, and heading down towards North Carolina. I would like to extend my trip, in order to capture more photographs. I know about various campsites along the parkway that require a small fee, but I would like to keep the trip as cheap as possible. Thanks for the help!

Umm, camping anywhere along the AT is free. As long as your not just there to party. If you walk in any direction for about 1 mile along the white blaze you should see either firerings setup or even a shelter. DO NOT CREATE ANY NEW FIRE RINGS!
