Morels are easy because nothing else looks quite like them, but chanterelles are a little tougher. I think they are in abundance in my area, but I'm not quite sure. Anyone out there know a little about identifying edible fungi? Check out these pics of some past prime (drying out) fungi I found on a recent hike. Are these chanterelles?

I actually spotted bunches of these in much better condition on a rainy hike July 5th.

Spotted this on Saturday in Hoosier National Forest, a good sized Chicken Mushroom. I didn't know it was edible and sought after until I got home and looked it up. Chantarelles are still everywhere around here.

Same boat as you. I can spot the Morale mushrooms easy. But I would like to know which ones are edible/poisonous/magic ;)

Spotted this VERY unusual specimen on my Fairmount Falls trip (check my blog.)

I think it is white coral tooth fungus, but I haven't gotten a good source for ID.

Yes, I come across many different types of Fungi here in the North. Especially around this time where there is moisture and heat still. Here are a few that I have taken shots of. Let me know if any of these can be Identified as I am trying to really learn and understand my different types of mushrooms.
