I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of a HD video camera with a long battery life that I could use on an upcoming thru-hike. Weight is also important. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Well, I really took my time in deciding which one to get. I have ended up with a JVC. The model # is GZ-MG680BU if anyone is interested. It holds 28 to 150 hrs of Rec. time. (128 GB) And I have a battery that has around 5.5 hours of life. Rechargeable of course. And I can get extra battery life for it if needed. Its small, compact and light. Plus it takes stills. Excellent picture quality as well! Only downside is how pricey it is.
