Yeah I will join you, whenever I am around. This summer is out of the question but anytime after that I am down. We can at least start going to certain sections and see if any of our close to trail members will join on those days. I just did the Del Water Gap this weekend.
For the AT, the only thing you need is will power. I think some of the hardest parts of the AT are the rocky spots in the Northern PA up through Connecticut. But it is well blazed and really just takes time and effort. When are you guys planning on going?
I probably won't have that much time off from work but I will meet up with anybody on Hikers Journal coming up the AT in Central PA and hike for a couple days until NY. You just have to keep me posted on when you will be approaching PA and I am golden.
Hiked the northern 500 miles sobo last summer. Had to get off due to knee injury, but will probably have another go at it in a couple years. Doubt I'll attempt the whole thing at once again, Maine & NH were nice enough, but just have too many other trails I want to hike to spend so long repeating the same section. Might just set a goal for about 500 mile sections in alternate years till its done, or something like that. Won't be doing any AT this summer as I'm headed out to the Grand Canyon for summer, but will check back for the following summer if anyone thinks they would be interested in a couple month long section, time and location negotiable.
