They look tempting. But I can't justify the extra weight.

I am not saying don't get one but I personally just don't see the advantage. There is no support for your back so sitting on the ground is about the same. Plus if the ground is soft the legs sink, best to use a ground cloth, that way you keep clean, dry and don't sink. It takes up more space and adds weight. I don't see it being essential nor multi purpose and the bitch of it is if it does break, you got to pack it out all the while remember you are carrying something you now can't use.

On the other hand it does provide some comfort and adds normality to your life if you are traveling alone for a long time. I personally am a lite weight guy so you would not find me using it.

One of my cousin's has that stool. It works great and they really are light!
