What are some common myths associated with Canoeing/Kayaking?
Common Myths:
Kayaking is very difficult. Not true: it's rather easy with a little practice and some brief instruction. It's common to be apprehensive until you give it a try.
It seems like everyone I have met that has canoed or kayaked really enjoyed the experience and couldn't wait to do it again. Have you found the same? Why do you think that is so?
Yes, it's a learning experience with every paddle stroke. I see customers begin there day a little shaky, but by the end of the trip their confident and right at home in the boat.
For someone that wants to try kayaking / canoeing but may be a little apprehensive how would you persuade them to give it a try?
Go with an outfitter or someone who knows how to paddle. Go into it with an open mind and be positive. Everyone’s learning curve is different so be patient. With every stroke of the paddle you will learn more and more.
Are you currently working on any projects? What do you see in the future for yourself and Three Trees Canoe?
Trying to get new business off the ground is my main project now. Renting canoes and kayaks on the Ky. River and serving the communities paddling needs.
