A feller I work with did Fraser recently and loved it. It's really good and it's on my to do list. It can go for a 100km or something. It's a really big island. Walking on the sand cuts down the speed. There are decent campsites throughout the walk. There's also rainforest on the island.

We can get together and go for a day hike. Have a chat about gear and how to lighten the backpack. I just uploaded a list of all my gear and the individual weight.

Big Dad's Pies. I see them around. I guess you'd be sick of pies by now?

Yeh mate. It's a huge park and plenty of room to hike for seven days. The rangers are really nice and helpful there. Go to the Ranger HQ at the beginning of Mt. Nebo Rd in The Gap Suburb. You can buy a good topography map (highly recommended) for $10. I went cheap and used a dodgy when I got off a BMX site. It lead to me going the round way down a valley for a few kms.

I'm on hols at the moment and going for a two day hike up there next week. I was doing a 9 day one but I'm still learning the ropes with logistics and pulled out 2 days in. Plus I'm having some real troubles with my shoulders. They're stiff and sore. Not so good.

Anyway, it's mostly full of two day hikes but they all join up so you can mix and match them. The designated campsites aren't positioned for a 7 day hike. So, you'll have to just find a spot. Get a permit anyway. The rangers are pretty cruisy as long as you got one.
