Hiking Hopes.

I have the dream of hiking the Appalachian Trail. It seems so silly to all my friends, yet, I feel that I should do it. I'll be graduating college a semester early, and starting graduate school that August/September. I don't think I'll have another chance to hike it. So that Spring 2010, look out for Kate on the AT. I'll be there, stupidly grinning that I've even made it to the trailhead in Georgia.

Hey Kate. I have slept in my ENO hammock. I do not have the canopy top so the weather makes a difference if its could. But on the nice nights I just lay in my sleeping bag in my hammock and doze off. Just carry 2 large black Garbage bags to put all of your still in and tie it tight. Anything with food hang from a DIFFERENT tree. Without the top I do make my own from a tarp and usually go with a angled 64/40 roof. Good enough in case it starts to drizzle or snow but also doesn't trap you in.

Great music and pics there Kate. Welcome to the hikers journal. There is currently a Photo contest going on. If you would like to submit join the Outdoor Photography group.
