My niece and I have took a new years trip to the Guadalupe Mountains for the past five years.......Sometimes the weather is pleasant, but we've also spent nights down to 16 degrees and days where it was a challenge to keep our water from freezing ...
Ed, nice shot of your Snowtrekker Winter Tent.
We pour soy wax into last Summer's Gatorade containers
to make camping candles. You can see in this
shot of 2008 camp near Seeley Lake, Montana what a nice
addition the "orange" candle light makes to ...
His name is Sampson and he's the family pet. When he was younger I put packs on him and he'd at least carry his own dog food. Now he goes along and can't wait to curl up beside my sleeping bag close to the stove!

I just returned from a trip with 13 of my members to the North Cascades in Washington State, it was awesome. We had one week of blue skies and sunshine and the scenery is fantastic.
My trip to the U.P was awesome. It rained like hell the first day, foggy, and cold. But it was worth the sunset that I got to see at the end of the day. Check out my site to see the vid of Pictured Rock. thebackpacker.tv You have some great pics.
Sorry for not responding to the post, we have had some really great weather and have been playing outside. Both of our boats have also been used for Turkey hunting, no luck though, but they atleast took the boats out to try and have also used them in some pretty low water. If you have a trip planned to NW PA - the Allegheny Natl forest area- Look me up!
