My niece and I have took a new years trip to the Guadalupe Mountains for the past five years.......Sometimes the weather is pleasant, but we've also spent nights down to 16 degrees and days where it was a challenge to keep our water from freezing ...

His name is Sampson and he's the family pet. When he was younger I put packs on him and he'd at least carry his own dog food. Now he goes along and can't wait to curl up beside my sleeping bag close to the stove!
I love the picture! Is that a pet or working dog? I ask as it seems to be popular to do dog sledding tours in the winter.

I haven't done any winter camping but Iam planning on doing some Fall/Winter hiking, and once we get snow in the hills, I'll be strapping on some snowshoes. My stomping grounds are in central Oregon so we have some nice high desert hiking as well ...

I just returned from a trip with 13 of my members to the North Cascades in Washington State, it was awesome. We had one week of blue skies and sunshine and the scenery is fantastic.

Both of our boats have also been used for Turkey hunting, no luck though, but they atleast took the boats out to try and have also used them in some pretty low water.
