The one thing you need to keep in mind is it needs to be a good knife and by that I mean not the 9.99 Walmart special! It needs to hold up especially if you are going remote and or long distance. A well made knife wont break and cut you or have the…

I am not saying don't get one but I personally just don't see the advantage. There is no support for your back so sitting on the ground is about the same. Plus if the ground is soft the legs sink, best to use a ground cloth, that way you keep clean,…
I was wondering if people are going, would you contact me. I and my crew would like to meet up with you there. Perhaps we can do a Trail Journal video or something too?
The biggest issue with the flip cameras is their ergonomics. If you are trying to do anything other than dead on shots and basic pan and tilt you can run in to issues. Also you need to figure out if you intend to use a tripod or monopod. These can d…
Where is the coolest place you have ever backpacked, hiked or camped?
Everywhere I go becomes the coolest place to backpack when I am there!
Where else have you backpacked, hiked or camped?
Each place has it special meaning on this planet and I get a high that I am seeing a part of something that another might never see and if they do will never see it in the same way I did. That moment becomes mine and you can't buy that in a store or experience it on TV!
What outdoor activities are you interested in?
A life long lover of the great outdoors, Paul Sheehan only needs an excuse to hit the trail. Nothing could give him a better excuse than to integrate his work with his love of nature. Paul’s vision of Tails From The Trail was to promote the outdoors to the average American. Even people who watch shows like Survivorman and Man vs. Wild, he feels, need to get off the couch and start the process of learning outdoor skills for themselves. No matter if you are a family that wants to take a day trip or someone looking to learn advanced trail skills, Paul has made a show for you.
Having run an editing facility for the New York Film Academy, and worked for such companies as (Teletime Video) that has been in video production for over 30 years and (In Demand) one of the top on demand movie services in the world, Paul has worked on everything from AT&T videos, Hollywood trailers, training videos, commercials, short films and more.
Concerned about the lack of funding for State and National Parks in an age where people spend less time outdoors, Paul set out to find a mix of cast, crew and companies who are passionate about compelling people to take the time to enjoy the gift of nature.
Paul has walked the Virginia sections of the Appalachian Trail, and gone from Bear Mountain to the Delaware Gap. For him, it is never too hot or too cold as he has camped out in 0 to 100 degrees temperatures year round. A decade ago you would have found him on the trails with an 80 lb. pack, but today he subscribes to a lightweight philosophy. He now carries between 15 to 25 lbs. max for trips up to two weeks. Should the situation ever call for it, he possesses survival skills that would allow him to survive with little more than a pocket knife.
