On Thursday, September 17th, my friends Chris, Tere and I went out for a hike on the Appalachian Trail at the Pinnacle. The Pinnacle is hailed as the most famous view off the Appalachian Trail in Pennsylvania and it lived up to it's reputation.
We picked a good day as it was supposed to be raining all day so there was nobody on the trail except for the local Boys and Girls Club with their mentors and 2 thru-hikers. Even though the forecast said rainy, the day turned out to be beautiful and arou…

Hey everyone. I know it has been a while since I have made any posts or uploads on here. It has been quite busy being bicycle season and I have not even really had the opportunity to get out on the trails yet this year. I know it is a bit late in the season for my first hike, but this hike was my roomates kids first hike ever. All in all he had a great time and handled himself incredibly out there.
As soon as we got there and we had on whatever backs we were taking, it did not take Heston long…

Hey everyone, I know I have been missing in action lately. I do apologize for that as I changed apartments in a hurry and just really didn't have time for the social things. I have not even been able to get skiing as much as I wanted this season. However, I am truly excited about the upcoming spring season for backpacking and bicycling. I already bought a pair of MTB clip in pedaling shoes and plan on doing at least a 2 day bike ride.
Man, there is so much to catch up on here. So many new membe…

So i finally figured out how to use Microsoft movie Maker, or at least figured out that I even left it installed. I have not had much time to mess with it, but the videos will improve, I promise. So far all I have figured out is adding effects, overlaying texts and audio. So Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy the first 2.

Hey everyone. I don't know who has checked out my webpage recently and noticed absolutely no changes. Well that was because I was on tour and now I am back. I recently implemented a whole new layout that will be finished within a few days. But I was able to upload my tour pictures. There is a link at the top of the page.

Whats up journal? Tere and I are still at Seneca Rocks in WV. We have been having so much fun, haven't had the will power to want to leave yet. I have been spending the past couple days in Rock Climbing mode and have been trad climbing basically the whole time. There is not much setup for top roping but the lead climbing is the best on the east coast. I will have some pictures uploaded when I get to organize and upload some. The backpacking terrain is typical WV terrain, rocky, and rolling mount…

Hey everyone, the bicycle tour across country is going pretty well. Not quite as planned, but possibly better. We're about 350 miles into the tour and have been spending some time here at Seneca Rocks, WV which is one of the best rock climbing in the country. There has been a ton of rain, swirling wind, and random coldness, but the views have been astonishing. There is not much access to the internet but I will update when I can. Happy trails hikers.

Today of course was another gorgeous day, and as I am still in NJ, my friend and I decided to go kayaking. We were considering Round Valley or The Great Swamp. We figured we don't have THAT much time (3 hours) and we wanted to see some birds. We have the Wildlife Animal Refuge there…

I have basically been out and about at Local Bike Shops and outdoor outfitters in the past couple of days. I have bought a bunch of gear for my tour both for my back and for the bike. To start with, I finally bought my touring/trekking pack. I wasn't going to spend as much as I ended up spending, but I believe it will be well worth it in the end. I went with the Gregory Palisades 80 (5000 Cubic Inch) in the orange color they call red.

The weather was perfect, and the mountain was ready. A couple friends and I decided that we'd go back to Rickett's Glen to so call finish a trail that we have not yet completed. We started at Falls Trail from the southern Parking Lot off of 118 and hiked North along their difficult trail. The total hike was bout 5-7 miles as we did some off trail hiking as well.
It was the perfect day for it and we saw basically every waterfall they had to offer. They ranged in size from 4 ft to an astonishing…

Well, the forecast was predicting some rain for my area today, however it turned out to be more than 65 and sunny all day. This was good news for me because it made going on a bike ride that much easier. I did my usual 25-30 mile ride around the Poconos and stopped off for a few walks on some trails. For being such early spring and unstable weather, the wildlife was fully active. I saw frogs, newts, turkeys, deer, a dead snake, not to mention the usual squirrels, chipmunks, and birds.
I felt…

I had a planned hike with 2 of my friends from my old town to hike the Appalachian Trail at the Delaware Water Gap this past friday. However, unforturnately they could not come as my one friend found out just shortly before coming that he had a prior obligation. Of course I thought my day was shot from that point.
Another friend of mine who lives in the area and goes hiking quite frequently happened to be around and I ended up going with her instead. We decided to park on the North end

Today was a beautiful day up in the mountains here. The temperature reached just over 50 degrees and it was a perfect day for a bike ride. I biked from my house down to Sullivan's Trail and then north to Lake Naomi. I got about half way around Lake Naomi and stopped and a boat ramp. While I was standing there with my bike about 2 ft from the water, I heard the unmissable hissing sound of a tire losing air. So, i checked my tires with my thumb, and noticed the front one was definitely softer. I h…
